Guruji Maharaj: The Eternal Light That Welcomes All

"Guruji Maharaj, a spiritual teacher of universal love and compassion, born July 7 1952"

Who We Are, Where We Came From, and Why We're Here

Empowering our Community through Service, Connection, and Mindfulness

At the heart of the Guruji Sangat of Seattle is a commitment to fostering a supportive environment where every individual can thrive. Our foundation is built on the teachings of Guruji Maharaj, who arrived on July 7, 1952, to uplift humanity through selfless love and universal compassion.

Though Guruji was a highly educated scholar with Master’s degrees in English and Economics, he chose a path of "practical spirituality", reminding us that the highest pursuit is to become "good human beings" who help everybody and harm none.

Three Practices, One Purpose — Open to Everyone:

  • Satsang-Sacred Gathering: We believe in the power of community gatherings to foster a sense of belonging and mutual support.

  • Seva-Selfless Service: Following the example of a "true giver," we engage in selfless service to support our local Redmond sanctuary and the broader community.

  • Simran-Meditation & Reflection: We provide a space for quiet reflection and mental peace, helping to anchor the mind in a busy world.

Our goal is to create a lasting sanctuary in the Seattle area, a "heaven on earth" that provides healing and connection for generations to come. Whether you are a lifelong devotee or simply looking for a supportive community, we welcome you with open hearts.

The Eternal Connection

On May 31, 2007, Guruji left his physical form, leaving behind a lesson on the evanescent nature of life and a lingering fragrance of roses. He left no successor, for the divine light has no replacement; instead, he emphasized that every devotee should establish a direct and intimate connection with him.

His spiritual abode, Bade Mandir, stands as a "heaven on earth" where his grace continues to work miracles, guiding, healing, and uplifting all who call upon him. “Kalyan karta... Blessings always.” These blessings are not just for this life but extend toward the ultimate goal of self-realization. His connection is eternal. His grace flows wherever there is faith.

OUR ROOTS: THE FIRST SATSANG

It all began here. In silence. In surrender. In Seattle. And it has grown into something that belongs to everyone who walks through the door.

The first-ever Satsang in Seattle, and the first held outside of Guruji Maharaj’s physical presence, blossomed within the sacred home known as Guruji Niwas. It was in the home of MP Singh Uncleji and Usha Singh Auntyji that Guruji’s divine presence first anchored itself outside of India.

With complete faith and surrender, a small group of devotees gathered. In that humble, grace-filled setting, Guruji revealed his presence in ways only the heart can understand. This was the moment Guruji Sangat Seattle emerged, a Sangat built by Guruji’s will alone.

That first satsang became the spark that lit a spiritual path for countless souls across the globe, connecting them to Guruji’s love, healing, and eternal light.
