Guidelines for Conducting a Private Satsang at Home
“Aum Namah Shivay, Shivji Sada Sahay. Aum Namah Shivay, Guruji Sada Sahay.”
Conducting a Satsang is a sacred Seva and a testament to Guruji’s divine presence in your home. To preserve the sanctity and dignity of these gatherings, we ask the host family and the Sangat to observe the following disciplines:
I. Spiritual Discipline & Environment
Punctuality: Please arrive a few minutes early to welcome Guruji Maharaj with full devotion.
Sacred Silence: Maintain "pin-drop" silence to foster a direct connection (Dhyan) with Guruji Maharaj.
Gurbani: Only Gurbani should be played during the Satsang.
Audio Focus: If possible, maintain a higher volume for the Gurbani to help still the mind and prevent it from wandering.
Digital Fasting: The use of cellphones is strictly prohibited to ensure an undisturbed environment.
II. Simplicity in Service (Seva)
Decorations: Keep home decorations simple and humble, focusing on the spiritual rather than the material.
Minimal Disturbance: There should be no movement or disturbance by Sevadars or the Sangat.
Prasad Flow: To avoid breaking the meditative atmosphere, do not serve rounds of water or Chai Prasad repeatedly.
No Networking: We discourage social or professional networking; the focus must remain entirely on the Guru.
Departure: Once the Satsang concludes, carry the blessings directly to your home by departing without delay.
III. Langar & Prasad Maryada
Homemade Offerings: All Langar must be prepared at home with love and hygiene.
Menu Simplicity: Limit the menu to Roti, two Sabzis, Chutney, and Kada Prasad only.
Service Timing: No snacks should be served during the actual Satsang.
Respect for Blessings: Devotees are requested to consume every drop of Chai Prasad, water, and Langar, as these are sacred blessings.
IV. Final Reminders
Aarti: The Aarti is to be played only once during the session.
Divine Intent: Do not focus on the number of attendees; there is no competition in Seva.
Selfless Service: Remember, you are conducting the Satsang for Guruji Maharaj and not to please anyone else.
